In addition to learning about writing web pages, I also enjoy fishing, swimming,
4-wheel driving, and camping.
Maitland, in South Australia, was where I was born, but I was raised in Port
Victoria. Port Victoria, in its time, was one of the largest grain ports in
south Australia, and it was a common sight to see bags of wheat being loaded
onto trolley carts which were taken down to the jetty and then loaded onto large
ships.
Although grain is now stored in large silos, Port Victoria once boasted some of
the biggest grain stacks in the area. Most of the ships were 4-masted, and
included the Viking, Passatt, Pamir, and Law hill. For many years there were
grain races from Port Victoria to England. The races were a challenge for the
crew, and their only thought was to out sail the other ships. However, the
origin of the races was quite simple - the first ship to reach England received
the highest price for its cargo.
Today, Port Victoria is a tourist attraction. People come from all over the
world to enjoy fishing , swimming, and diving near the wrecks. Of course many
come to simply relax and enjoy Port Victoria hospitality.
I was Living in Rockingham western Australia but suffering from anxiety and panic attacks
I decided to shift back to Port Victoria
for a more calmer life style
